It’s like when I was a child, when I went out and played pirates. In Roblox, people play in a 3D environment created by the community. It can take any form.

The shareware business model allows the platform and developers to earn. Robux is a local virtual currency. exchange rate – four hundred units for five dollars. Users spend money on in-game features and digital objects like items and avatars.

I created Roblox out of pure passion. But ten years later, people in the industry began to see the potential for business in this space. I believe that companies like ours will be as big as media companies and IT companies that are engaged in social networks and are valued at tens of billions of dollars. I don’t know how long it will take, but I know the possibilities are huge.

In terms of ad revenue, Roblox had banner ads at the start of the project, but the company quickly ditched that in favor of immersive ads and partnerships with big brands like Disney.

7. The Importance of Multiplayer for Roblox

Concerts on online platforms are gaining popularity, attracting an audience in such numbers that no stadium can accommodate so many. At the same time, the shows themselves impress not only with effects that are impossible in ordinary reality, but also with the opportunity for each participant to become part of the action. Such shows adopt me. Even if you just run and jump, it still gives the effect of presence and complicity. The Metaverse can be useful in education or business. Joint virtual creativity can change our understanding of areas that traditionally existed only offline.

The game is growing steadily, not in spikes. Works on weak computers, phones, tablets, consoles. Games on the platform are very different, for every taste and color. There are games with gameplay that other platforms don’t have in principle.

The application of the metauniverse in the modern world will find new forms. Already, Roblox is the largest company, a library with a lot of games, an educational project, a business opportunity, a platform for realizing creative potential.

Perhaps our metaverse is as big a shift in online communication as the phone or the internet. In the next few decades, the capabilities of the platform will exceed our wildest imagination. Perhaps Roblox’s greatest opportunity is to connect people from all walks of life and help create a digital civil society that will truly begin to take shape in 2021.

10. My opinion and conclusion

In November 2021, Roblox is one of the most popular games by the number of users. But this happened only in the last 3 years, while the game is already 15 years old. For a long time, Roblox did not receive wide recognition. This was facilitated by the lack of PR support for the game, a specific community of players and a focus on a children’s audience.

But with the advent of the pandemic, the combination of wide functionality for creating game worlds and social network elements has attracted an audience. With Roblox, kids and teens who weren’t able to date and hang out due to the lockdown got the chance to do so online. From that moment began a sharp rise in the popularity of the game.

As of November 2021, Roblox is one of the most popular games in terms of the number of users. 43.2 million active players spend their time on it every day, and the platform itself is valued at $45 billion. At the same time, Roblox continues to develop in new directions, the most ambitious of which is the metaverse.
